The Del Celler Vineyard

This is the area where the winery, from which it takes its name, has been built. It is situated below the C730 road which links the villages of El Molar and El Lloar and which also forms the northern boundary of the vineyard.
It is the largest area of the estate and most of it is terraced, although there are unterraced areas in the steepest parts. The layout of the vineyard has attempted to blend in the terraced areas with the natural rise and fall of the terrain.
The name of our first wine, Les Ones (The Waves), refers to the gentle and at times pronounced rise and fall of the land which characterises the relief of the estate's terrain. The soil, which in places is deep and in others shallow, has been formed on slate stone which is extremely weathered in places.
The soil is of low to moderate fertility. In the area to the east of the winery, following on from the previous vineyard, we can find Merlot grapes and to the west, mainly Grenache grapes are grown. In turn, these give way to Cabernet in the lower areas on the southern side.
