The Barranc del Gerona Vineyard

This vineyard occupies the whole of the valley situated towards the southern part of the estate behind the winery. In the higher parts, the curved terraces follow the slope which stretches from the area next to the winery to the lower boundaries of the estate. The Merlot grapes planted nearest the winery give way to Syrah, with Cabernet Sauvignon being the main variety on the southern side.
The slate soil is extremely stony in the higher parts towards the east and deeper and more weathered in the lower areas. There are plans to construct a small pool surrounded by olive trees on the top of one of the hills at the top of the valley. On the opposite hill there is a path which leads to the lower limits of the plantation through a pine forest which has been conserved. There are also hundred-year-old olive trees all along the valley which grow alongside the vines.
